AFP has partnered with the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) to further the reach of AFP’s University Partners Program (UPP).
The UPP equips students with essential financial and business analysis skills that are in high demand by partnering with colleges and universities to provide access to the curriculum for AFP’s Certified Corporate FP&A Professional (FPAC), the leading credential in corporate financial planning and analysis worldwide and the Certified Treasury Professional, the leading treasury credential held by more 80% of Fortune 500 companies. Further, it prepares students to sit for — and successfully pass — the exams and earn a provisional credential that will set them apart in the job market.
“The UPP demonstrates AFP’s continued commitment to the finance profession by helping to build the next generation of practitioners and leaders,” said Jim Kaitz, President & CEO of AFP. “Through the UPP, colleges and universities provide their students with the essential skills that CFOs have long recognized as being critical to driving growth in their organizations.”
To introduce the UPP to more colleges and universities, AFP is pleased to grow its alliance with ACBSP after serving as a sponsor at the 2023 ACBSP conference in Chicago. The ACBSP is a global business education accrediting body with members in more than 60 countries throughout the world and the first organization to offer accreditation to all levels of collegiate business educational degree programs from associate to doctoral.
“As ACBSP continues its focus on student-centered initiatives, we are very excited to collaborate with the AFP,” said Jeffrey Alderman, ASCBP President & CEO. “The University Partners Program is exactly the type of relevant learning experience that prepares students for their professional careers.”
The UPP’s flagship partner is Indiana University’s highly regarded Kelley School of Business. Launched in 2024, the program partnership consists of a workshop in FP&A that prepares students to sit for the FPAC exam. Additionally, AFP provides participating students with:
- Links to corporate recruiters and access to job postings and the AFP Career Hub.
- Access to AFP’s FPAC exam preparation materials.
- Special student pricing for the FPAC exam.
