The AFP Financial Planning and Analysis Advisory Council (FPAAC) is instrumental in helping AFP deliver insightful, relevant and timely content to the membership and community.
“I really rely on the advisory council to surface leading practices, trends and interesting case studies from around the world,” said Bryan Lapidus, FPAC, Director, FP&A Practice, for AFP. “At the same time, their critical review of AFP content ensures that everything we deliver to the FP&A community speaks to the needs of the practitioner.”
Using its three main functions of communication, thought leadership, and promotion and advocacy, over the past year, FPAAC achieved the following in 2023
- Lent their expertise in shaping the content of another outstanding AFP Annual Conference.
- Continued a year-long focus on how finance can accelerate or inhibit agility throughout the company through the following:
- The AFP FP&A Guide, Finance Agility: Change Is Part of the Plan, which outlines three key areas to focus on for pursuing agility.
- AFP FP&A Series: Getting Agile Right for Finance (four-part series) — join us for the next one, March 20: AI-Powered Finance: What to Do Today.
- Published the AFP FP&A Guide, Get Your Talent Right, which presents different studies from organizations that will help you get your talent right, from finding the right company-candidate fit to navigating a career.
- Added 12 new invaluable case studies to the FP&A Case Study Library.
Members of AFP’s 2024 North America FP&A Advisory Council represent a broad cross-section of industries, organizational sizes and ownership structures, and were selected based on their contributions to the FP&A practice, expertise in specific areas, and desire to contribute to the advancement of their peers.
Outgoing Chair of the Advisory Council, Scott Corvey, is succeeded by Nikita Miller, FPAC, Director of Facilities and FP&A, for The Kresge Foundation. “I am excited to be the Chair of the FPAAC Advisory Council this year!” said Miller. “I have had the opportunity to learn and grow professionally as an AFP member and FPAC holder, and my experience on the Advisory Council over the past few years has been invaluable in collaborating with peers and true thought leaders in the field of FP&A. I am committed to continuing the work of past chairs by supporting AFP’s goal to advance the careers of finance professionals and the field overall through valuable content, knowledge sharing and fostering professional development.”
